Winter weddings in Chicago have a magic all their own, and Lizzie and Logan’s Salvage One wedding in Chicago was no exception. From snowy rooftop portraits to cozy candlelit reception moments, their day embraced everything that makes a winter celebration feel romantic and unforgettable.

Lizzie and Logan began their wedding day at the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown West Loop, where they got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. The excitement built all morning as final touches were added and the winter light streamed softly through the windows.

A Snowy First Look in the West Loop

One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look on the rooftop deck at the Hampton Inn. A light layer of fresh snow covered the ground and we even threw around some snow for some more silly photos which fit their vibe perfectly.

Winter weddings can sometimes feel unpredictable in Chicago, but this day felt calm, intentional, and perfectly timed. The snowy rooftop portraits were romantic, peaceful, and uniquely “Chicago winter.”

A Unique Winter Wedding at Salvage One

If you’re planning a wedding at Salvage One, you already know it’s one of the most distinctive wedding venues in Chicago. Lizzie and Logan fully embraced the character of the space — which made photographing their day even more special.

They intentionally incorporated Salvage One’s quirky and eclectic charm into their portraits. It’s hard to narrow down the spots to use! We picked some old theatre seats, some of their amazing antiue couches, and embraced all the brick and texture that the venue is packed with.

Cozy Reception Moments Under Warm Lights

As the evening settled in, the space transformed into a warm, glowing winter reception. The candlelight and ambient lighting inside Salvage One created a cozy atmosphere that contrasted beautifully with the snowy Chicago weather outside. The reception lighting is one of my favorite things about photographing at Salvage One!
